The Doors

About

The Doors were a psychedelic rock band that formed in the 60's. The band's most famous member is Jim Morrison who was known for his crooner-esque baritone and showmanship. Also worth mentioning is the band's keyboard player Ray Manzarek who would play bass lines with his left hand and chords and melodies with his right.

What they mean to me

The first band that I have mixed feelings on. When I was in high school I loved The Doors' music. I knew the lyrics to every song and read biographies about them. I stopped listening to them for several years. When I listened to them again, a lot of the songs they made that I loved now sounded simple and cheesy. I'm not trying to say The Doors are bad and I still love many of their songs. I think it just showcases how taste changes with time. LA Woman was my least favorite album when I was younger, not it's my favorite.
