Louis Cole

I'm trying to fight the temptation to burn through all of my favorite musicians at the start. I'm making Louis Cole the second musician of the week anyway. Louis is a singer songwriter in multiple projects who is known for his drumming virtuosity, humorous lyrics, and jazz-funk. I almost made Louis guitarist of the week because he sometimes plays guitar, that is how much I love his music. He's one half of the band Knower, speculated (almost confirmed) to be the drummer in Clownc0re and has his own solo career.

What they mean to me

I first started listening to Louis when the band Knower was mentioned in an Adam Neely video. I listened to Knower's cover of Promises and then branched out into Louis' other work. Several years ago I got to see Louis live and was 5 feet away from his drum set. I didn't take any photos or videos that night because I wanted the experience to live solely in my heart.

Examples

One of the most beautiful songs he's written, I love his harmonies. I also love how he's able to make silly music as well as serious songs on the same album.

I love how funky this song is and the horn arrangements. The bass player Sam Wilkes on this track is also one of my favorite bassists. This track also shows off how Louis works with the best musicians.

He can also play drums and keys at the same time.
