Derek Trucks is a blues guitarist most known for the Tedeschi Trucks Band. He is the nephew of drummer Butch Trucks of Allman Brothers fame. Recognized as a prodigy, Derek had his first paid gig when he was 11.

Derek is a slide guitar player. Listen to his accurate intonation. Also listen to the lyrical quality of his soloing.

Examples

This is the band that Derek plays in with his wife Susan Tedeschi (who is also a good guitar player and an excellent vocalist). The guitar solo at the end is incredible and showcases the lyrical quality of his phrasing.
