Pierre Bensusan

Pierre was born in Algeria but moved to France as a child. He signed the contract to record his first album when he was just 17. Pierre composes mostly folk and world music. He most often uses the DADGAD tuning. He plays steel string acoustics and has a signature guitar with Irish guitar maker Lowden.

What to listen for

Listen to how Pierre utilizes the DADGAD tuning to get some interesting chords to ring out using the open strings. Pay attention to how he gets his melodies to stand out. Also pay attention to his large dynamic range and different timbres.

Probably Pierre's most heard composition though many aren't aware of who made it. It was featured in the soundtrack of the anime Cowboy Bebop.
